Kaija Hansen, violinist and music teacher

My Bio
Kaija Hansen is a violinist and music educator based in the Los Angeles and Orange County area of California. She began playing violin at age 8, but her love of music began much earlier, fostered by a family of musicians. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach with degrees in both Violin Performance and Music Composition. During her studies, she was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda, the National Music Honor Society, and maintained a spot on the President’s Honor List for all 10 semesters.
Kaija has been playing violin at a professional level since 2009. Her performances have ranged from weddings, orchestras, music for film, video games, and other media, to art galleries, dance shows, nightclubs, and many more. She is comfortable playing a wide variety of genres, including both traditional and contemporary classical, rock and metal, pop and fiddling, improvisation, and electronic music. She currently plays electric fiddle with the Los Angeles-based country band, Richwine. As a performer, she finds great enrichment from experiencing and learning about music from all over the world.

When not teaching, playing, or writing music, Kaija enjoys being creative in other ways, such as writing, drawing, crafting, and arranging music for fun. As an avid gamer and lover of video games since she was a child, she enjoys studying and arranging music of this genre, and hopes to someday be more involved in the industry. She loves exploring the beautiful scenery of Southern California through hiking and road trips, especially the deserts, which inspires much of her creativity.
